In prior articles, we’ve covered how the Biden Administration’s infrastructure bill proposes an $80 billion budget increase to the IRS over the next 10 years to enforce tax collections. And while the bill is expected to pass through the House of Representatives soon, it probably won’t become law until at least early October.

But the IRS is not waiting for Congress.  In Colorado, the IRS is already ramping up its workforce ahead of the budget increase. Denver’s IRS office has hired seven new Revenue Officers in just the past month.  We’re hearing that they expect to hire at least fifteen more before the end of the year.
