David Weishaus | Co-Founder & Senior Business Adviser
David Weishaus is a founding partner of Boxelder Consulting and Tax Relief. He holds a J.D. from the University of Baltimore as well as two bachelors degrees from Johns Hopkins University, specializing in Economics and International Relations.
Prior to founding Boxelder, Mr. Weishaus worked as an investment consultant during the financial crisis of 2008. Mr. Weishaus designed and managed over 35 million dollars in client portfolios during his tenure as an investment advisor. He went on to become the general partner of DJW Capital, a commodities and global equity focused hedge fund.
A serial entrepreneur, David Weishaus enjoys working with other business owners throughout the various business stages: inception, top-line growth, business development, sales and marketing planning, along with business succession planning. Approaching business solutions from an accounting and taxation perspective allows Mr. Weishaus to be critically objective when advising clients on the following:
- Establish/build accounting infrastructure functionality
- Mentor controllers/bookkeepers
- Strategic plans
- Dashboard development
- Business process improvements
- Taxation and succession planning
A life-long student of Mandarin Chinese, Mr. Weishaus loves to learn and master new skills. Mr. Weishaus is a former Florida State Chess Champion. He was recently engaged in 2018 and plans to marry the love of his life, and Boxelder Consulting’s Director of Marketing, Audra Walter, as soon as tax season ends (including clients on extension).
